There are so many ways to beautify a room using window treatments. Full length draperies can be very plain at the top or have knife edge pleats, French pleats, box pleats, reverse box pleats, cartridge pleats to name a few of the finishing treatments on custom draperies.

Curtains
Curtains are a more casual window treatments that could have a rod pocket at the top or a tab top. We always suggest lining both drapes and curtains to protect your fabric form the sun and fading over time. Sheers are another type of window treatment that can be used as a layer behind the drapes for sun protection or as a way to have more privacy when the drapes are open.

Roman Shades
Roman Shades are another option. They are usually a flat panel that covers the window and then folds up using cords at the back. They can be mounted outside the window or inside the window if you want the woodwork to show. An inside mounted shade requires the window to have 4 square corners so it can go up and down easily. Roman shades can have tucks and other details added to them. Roman Shades are mounted on a board and attached with brackets to the wall or just mounted to the top of the window frame.

Top Down Shades
Top down shades can be strung to lower from the top as well as folding up from the bottom, both are a very custom look.
A cornice is an upholstered wooden structure that is mounted over the window and valances are a top treatment that hangs from a rod above the drape or curtain.
